Childcare Assistant

Position / Role

 Reports To: Lead Teacher/Childcare Director 

 

 Job Summary: 

 

 The childcare assistant supports the lead teacher and staff in providing children with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. They assist with daily activities, ensure children’s well-being, and maintain a clean and organized space. 

 

 Primary Responsibilities: 

 

 1. Child Supervision: 

 • Assist in supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities. 

 • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. 

 

 2. Activity Support: 

 • Help prepare and set up educational and play activities. 

 • Engage with children during playtime, lessons, and group activities. 

 • Provide one-on-one attention as needed. 

 

 3. Basic Care: 

 • Assist with meals, snacks, and nap times. 

 • Help with diaper changes and bathroom breaks as necessary. 

 • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring children wash hands regularly. 

 

 4. Classroom Maintenance: 

 • Keep classrooms and play areas clean, organized, and stocked. 

 • Sanitize toys, furniture, and equipment according to guidelines. 

 

 5. Communication: 

 • Report any concerns about children to the lead teacher or director. 

 • Maintain positive interactions with parents and guardians. 

 

 6. Other Duties: 

 • Support in managing classroom behavior and promoting positive interactions. 

 • Participate in staff meetings, training, and other activities as required. 

 

 Qualifications and Skills: 

• High school diploma or GED (minimum). 

 • Experience in childcare or a related field (preferred). 

 • Knowledge of child development and safety practices. 

 • Patience, creativity, and a love for working with children. 

 • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 

 • Ability to pass background checks and complete required certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter). 

Driver

Position / Role

Position Summary:
The Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from Spirit Life Academy and other approved locations. This role includes ensuring safety at all times, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport children to and from the childcare center, school, and other designated locations.

  • Assist children as they enter and exit the vehicle, ensuring seatbelts are fastened and child safety requirements are met.

  • Maintain regular vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues.

  • Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and Spirit Life Academy safety policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and transportation schedules.

  • Communicate promptly with staff and parents regarding any delays or changes to the schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred if required by local regulations.

  • Experience in driving large vehicles or transporting children is a plus.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and maintain a high level of safety awareness.

  • Friendly, reliable, and patient, with a commitment to Christian values.
